Mechanical Engineering Projects

Cooking Spray Assistant

This project was done in order to help an individual named Natalie with cerebral palsy. Natalie loves to bake, but unfortunately she has mobility issues which prevent her from completing certain task without difficulty. This product was created to help Natalie gain some independence and give her the ability to cover her baking tray with non-stick coating easier. Natalie has the ability to grasp the can, but she has a hard time pressing the small cap by herself. This product created a lever to squeeze, in order to give Natalie a greater surface area, which helped her have an easier time using the non-stick spray.

Product Review

Natalie recently reviewed our product on her Youtube channel! She even included the clip of me using the product as a demo. She gave us a great review and she was really happy with our product :)

Ferris Wheel using Bike Parts

The point of this project was to create anything from recycled bike parts. We decided to create a ferris wheel for plants with the pieces. We used a bike wheel as the ferris wheel, and pedals as the cart that would rotate around. We learned a lot of manufacturing techniques which helped us create this project. Here are the techniques and tools we used:
Drilling (hand drill and drill press)
Cutting (angle grinder and horizontal bandsaw)
Grinding (angle grinder)
Welding (MIG)

Sewing Machine Analysis & Teardown

This is a complete product teardown, of a sewing machine. The first picture is my team's analysis of the machine's components and how the machine operates. The second picture is a complete teardown of the product, labeling every component of the machine. The final picture is the 3D model we created as a group in Solidworks.

CAD Modeling

I use Solidworks to model objects, here's some examples of what I have done.
